Plenty of tools in this category imply otherwise. These are the real boundaries.
The extension has no server. Products, saved items and stock snapshots stay in your browser's local storage. One exception is documented plainly in the privacy policy: the full tool falls back to public relay services when your browser blocks a direct request, and the store URL is visible to that relay.
It reads publicly published storefront data — the same JSON any visitor's browser can request. That said, what you do with a competitor's catalogue is your responsibility. Copying listings wholesale can breach copyright and Shopify's terms. Use it for research, migration of your own stores, and price monitoring.
The column layout matches Shopify's template, so yes for structure. You will still want to set your own vendor, prices and inventory quantities — there are fields in the tool for exactly that before you export.
The popup works on the store tab you have open and can do live stock checks. The full tool takes any pasted URL, handles bulk lists, and gives you a grid to review, filter and select from. Saved items are shared between both.
